2 x - = 1 +

Yes, amazing isn't it? Two negatives can equal a positive!

I've never been big on acrylic nor mohair so who would have thought that I'd be happy with a yarn made from a blend of the two? Me! Mrs Picky Britches!

But it is true. The yarn is Cleckheaton Studio and it is an 8ply 50% mohair, 50% acrylic. It doesn't stick like acrylic, snag like mohair and is easy to tink! Amazed?? Yeah, me too!

I'm using col 17 to knit a scarf from the IK Holiday Gifts mag. It is just a basic 4 row feather and fan pattern, easy enough to remember while remaining interesting. While I was checking the link I had a look at IK Winter 2006.....v.interesting!

Will the knitting wish list ever end?

The knitting wish list is never ending - that's what keeps us going. :o) I'm not a 'blue' person ususally, but really like this shade of blue you are using. Should look lovely finished up.

Hmm, I too have used the studio. The variegated bumble bee impersonating jumper is still in my cupboard. Your scarf, on the other hand, looks terrific!

Terri - it is an almost metalic col in real life, very unusual.

Racheal - it IS misty garden!

Amanda J - I also have some variegated but I'm happier with the solid colour. Maybe you could use your jumper for a fancy dress party??? LOL

Hey, did we ever see a photo of your 'Don't mock my cables' socks??? Enquiring minds want to know. :o)

I've used Cleckheaton Studio in pale blue and loved it.

I've also made misty garden in the suggested yarn (Jo Sharp mohair) and gave it away - too scratchy! x

The scarf looks lovely. I bought this yarn too but have not used it yet. Nope, the wish list never ever gets smaller. I got my book "Victorian Lace Today" from Amazon on Monday and my lace list just got miles bigger. I don't think I will ever finish all the things I wanna make in my life time.

Studio Mohair is one of the better ones. I really like it. But I steered away from it for a scarf because I wondered how it would block, being partly acrylic. I recently read that natural fibres block better. Will be curious to see how you go. It looks SO good!

how are you going with mohair in this heat???

I love Studio Mohair - have made 2 Clapotis out of the stripe - Blue and Tan, and have several more projects planned. I bought all the the Pattern Books for this yarn because I loved the designs.
